A lot of people have been asking how to transfer your slices when you get a new phone. This was implemented a while ago, but the site was having some problems and it was probably inaccessible. Everything should be better now.

* You need to have created an account and linked it on your original phone. If you didn't do this, there's nothing you can do. Fortunately, most serious slicers do this.
* On your new phone, link your forum account. (Create a new account on this forum. You can do this in a web browser on your computer if you prefer. Then click the "i" button in the slicer app and hit the button "More Info on the Web". At the top of the page, enter the new username and password you created from this forum.)
* At the bottom of the page accessed from the "More Info..." button is a section called Phone Transfer. Click the link there.
* Follow the instructions on this page. I just tried it myself for my new phone, and it worked great.

NOTE (from ES187): an upgrade to iOS7 will act as a NEW DEVICE. Just create a (once again) new account on this forum, link this new forum account with your device and then use the Phone Transfer option. ATTENTION: Always use your FIRST account you linked with the slicer app and the LATEST account you linked with your device. And all will be fine again.

Übertragung eines Accounts auf einem neuen iPhone.

[This is just a step by step instruction in German]

0. Der Useraccount beim Earthslicer ist im Grunde der Account in diesem Forum, sofern man seine iPhone mit diesem Account gelinkt hat. Dies erreicht man dadurch, in dem man in der App unten auf das " i " tippt, und danach den Link "more info on the web" folgt. Ganz oben kannst man dann den Usernamen und das Passwort des hier angelegten Useraccounts eingeben, womit das iPhone mit dem Account gekoppelt ist. Dieser Schritt ist notwendig, für den Fall man irgendwann ein neues iPhone hat und dieses Spiel auf dem neuen iPhone weiterspielen möchte!

Wenn man also ein neues iPhone hat, geht man wie folgt vor:

1. Installiere das letzte Backup des alten iPhones auf dem neuen iPhone.
Dies ist wichtig, da bei jede NEU-installation des Apps die bislang gefahrenen Strecken gelöscht werden! Die Strecken werden nämlich nur auf dem iPhone gespeichert, die Slices werden auf dem Server gespeichert.

2. Wie unter Punkt 0 beschrieben, sollte bereits ein Useraccount mit Passwort in diesem Forum existieren und das alte iPhone damit gelinkt sein. Es sollte geprüft werden, dass man das Passwort noch kennt, ggf. kann man sich ein neues Passwort zuschicken lassen. Kennt man seinen Usernamen im Forum nicht mehr, kann man in der Top100 nachschauen (Punktzahl/Score des Apps mit dem der Top 100 vergleichen).

3. Man legt einen weiteren(!) Useraccount in diesem Forum an. Dieser Schritt ist notwendig, um zuerst das neue iPhone mit einem neuen Account zu koppeln. Das neue iPhone sollte NICHT mit einem bereits existierenden Account gekoppelt werden!!

4. Man startet die App auf dem neuen iPhone. Die eigenen Slices werden dort auch in Pink angezeigt und der Score wird 0 sein. Wieder tippt man hier auf das " i " unten am Bildschirm und folgt dann den Link "more info on the web". Ganz oben (über dem Welcome!) hat man dann die Möglichkeit, einen Usernamen und Passwort einzugeben. Hier gibt man die Daten des NEUEN(!) Accounts (siehe Punkt 3) ein. Danach ist das neue iPhone mit einem Account gekoppelt.

5. Jetzt kann man unten auf der Seite "more info on the web" im Menü "Phone transfer" den Link "transfer" folgen. Dort gibt man dann zuerst die Daten des ALTEN iPhones ein (also von dem iPhone, womit die Slices gemacht wurden, sprich "blau" sind). Danach gibt man die Daten des NEUEN iPhones ein (also von dem iPhone, welches man ab jetzt für das Spiel verwenden möchte). Nachdem diese Felder entsprechend ausgefüllt sind, geht es weiter mit dem Button "Transfer Phones". Kurz warten und...

EDIT OKTOBER 2013: das Update auf iOS 7 sorgt dafuer, dass Earth-Slicer als neues Geraet angeschaut wird. (das eigene Blau wird aufeinmal in Rosa angezeigt). Daher muss mit dem gleichen Geraet, wieder einen Transfer gemacht werden, wie oben beschrieben. ACHTUNG: Nachdem der Link mit einen NEUEN account gemacht wurde, soll der Transfer mit dem ERSTEN und dem NEUEN Account gemacht werden!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

6. ... die App auf dem neuen iPhone starten wo die eigenen Slices prompto in Blau erscheinen sollte sowie der Score mit der Punktzahl die man bislang gemacht hat.

--- i changed phones. two weeks ago or so, i transferred my earthslicer slices to my new phone, when i startes earthslicer this morning, it went back to the old phone for no reason. so i transferred it again to my new phone, see what errors i got. On my new phone my old slices are there. Will they stay there now, or when i start earthslicer a next time they will be gone again?

Your good. The "error" messages (which are in fact "just" warnings ;) ) are given due of debug routines adum has set in the transferprocedure (its a php thing) as there have been some issues before. These has been solved around christmas.

I see 2 times correct pw! so your good. Don't know what happens, if the game is started on the old iPhone again, but I recommend just not to try it. If you new iPhone shows you slices in blue again, then everything will work fine - and even better, at least compared between a 3GS and a 4S...

Hi there I am needing some help transferring to a new device. I have created the new account and each are logged in to the phones. When I try on my new phone it says the old user does not exist and the same for the old phone where it will say the new user does not exist. When I enter the information for name I'm entering the username like my new one lovemc. Please help I don't want to lose my slices and I can't do any more until its set up (cause I know I would lose any new ones on my new device). Thank you!!

Sorry, for the late answer.
In fact the system does work, have done it my self and a friend has transferred successfully too.

If both iPhones have their _own_ account on this forum, you have to take the new one and via the "i" button on the botton of the screen (besides the slider), you get an infopage, with a button "more info on the web". The loads a page in the safaribrowser(*), where you'll find the option "Phone transfer". It will load a page where you have to enter the username & password for the old iPhone (with all the slices) and the username and password for the new iPhone. Then hit the button Transfer and you should be done.

(*)As a control, you can see some information on the your iPhone:
- a device hash coude
and more important:
- to which account your device is linked.

Before the transfer, each phone should be linked to their created account on the forum and after the transfer, your new iphone should be linked to your old account.

I've just followed the instructions for transferring my account to my new phone. Created the new account, linked it to new phone, then went through the transfer process but it ended with an error. I didn't write it down but it basically said there was no phone linked to new account. New phone now says linked to my original account but the app shows 0 slices and rank 681. I was ranked 24!!

I have a new phone, but made a mistake with tranferring. I made a new account on the forum (colonia4s), but i by accident logged in on the 'More info' screen on my new phone with my old account (Colonia). Now it looks like both my phones are connected to Colonia, and i can not transfer the data to colonia4s because it had no connected phone. is there a way that i can log in my new phone with my new account? I already tried erasing the cookies and re-installing the app, didn't work...

Hello I just want to let everyone know that it finally and I mean FINALLY worked for me!
One big tip I have which I believe caused the most problems. If you get an error that says your user name doesn't exsist look very close at the caps my first username was all lowercase and my new one starts with a cap so I was entering lovemc when the Capitol L really made a difference so Lovemc worked fine so if your having troubles
1. Make sure the device is linked
2. Make sure the usernames and password are perfectly imputed (very case sensitive)

PS it said this to me:
"transfer complete. I hope this worked, because if not, you're probably screwed"

ATTENTION! An upgrade to iOS 7 will act as a NEW DEVICE. Your own blue slices will be shown red, as if you had a new iPhone. So you have to do a new transfer like described above.

After you have successfully linked your device to a NEW account you have create, you have to do the transfer with the FIRST ACCOUNT and the LATEST you created. Be sure to check the PASSWORDS before you start the procedure!! If you follow the instructions written above carefully and take this information into account, it will work out. Happy Slice!
